Hey, look at me, un-abandoning a thing! I really like the dark desaturated purple and red I ended up with as a base on the big bug, so I’m glazing the same mix over the clashing too-vibrant versions here (while I remember what they are).

It’s the Bug Lady (totally not a bug)! Her red frock is a lot less red in the shadows, her purple boots knocked _way_ down in the highlight. I may actually be continuing with this one!

A front shot of a charming bald lady (definitely not a bug), mainly still zenithal primer but with a fancy frock that may or may not read as red.
A side view of the same lady (not a bug) showing the extent of the yellow in the highlights, the blue in the shadows, against a red midtone.
The flowing train of the rear of the model hopefully distracts from the absolute carnage of my painting desk that I’m only now realising is clearly visible in the background of the shot, strewn with paint pots, tubes and brushes.
Bug Lady returns (not a bug)! She now has some shiny boots of an entirely unsuitable pink-and-purple-highlighted black. Just wait until the non-metallics are started to really throw the colour balance for a loop…
