I always intended to go back to this one and do a finishing pass or two before submitting to the competition on MMF, but the thought of doing so put me off any hobbying at all for several days 😅. So I’m calling this guy done. This will be the hero shot. Also the first mini photo I’ve ever removed the ‘WIP’ tag from.

Sketching in the light placement for Fancy Lad’s eventual Fancy Backside. Very rough sketch. (Please only squint while viewing 😅)

As grim and dark a posterior as John Warhammer ever could have dreamed. I’m trying for a beaten-up pearlescent effect rather than a metallic. I think the secondary reflections on the underside of the pauldrons are doing the heavy lifting at the moment.

Starts to read a little better with a strong highlight placed and a little bit of secondary colour replacing the surrounding primer.

A single actually-yellow heel highlight added and, if you squint, the rest of it may start to look like the same colour but in shade/lit by a secondary source?
